"Free at last, free at last. Thank God Almighty, I'm free at last!" Donald Wayne Carlisle, of Indianapolis , IN born April 20, 1950, passed from this life into the presence of his Savior on July 6, 2011. He was 61 years old. Born in St. Louis, MO, to the late Coy Carlisle and Ruby Jenkins Carlisle, he was the youngest of four children. He moved to Evansville, IN, at an early age where he graduated from F. J. Reitz High School in 1968, and completed a roofing apprenticeship in 1982. He moved to Indianapolis, IN, where he worked as a journeyman roofer and was a 25-year member of Roofers Local 119. Donald died in Indianapolis. He was preceded in death by a sister, Paula Burgdorf, and brother, Steven Carlisle. He leaves behind a sister, Sheila Burdette, of Dallas, TX, an aunt, Mae Blanche Dean of Evansville, along with cousins, nephews, nieces, and friends. Donald enjoyed fishing and was an avid reader of history and Christian authors. He loved his family and was loyal to his friends. A memorial service will be held at the Forest Hills Baptist Church at 2800 Hartmetz Avenue, Evansville, IN, on Saturday, August 6, 2011, at 2:00 pm.
