Debi Reed

Debi Reed , 71, New Palestine, IN passed away on August 14, 2024 in Indianapolis, IN. She was born on August 29, 1952 in Indianapolis, IN.

She is survived by husband, Don Reed, daughter Zoe Dorsey, stepdaughter, Lori Walker, grandchildren Chelsea Walker, Reed Dorsey and Ryder Dorsey, great-grandchild Colton Rajabi, sister Joann Loftus (Dale), brothers John (Treesa) Despot and Tom (Becky) Despot and many nieces and nephews.

Reed is preceded in death by her parents, John and Shirley Ann Despot.

Debi graduated from Center Grove High in 1970. She attended Ball State University where, years later, she would return as a journalism professor. Debi was one of the first women in the nation to cover an NFL team and one of the first female sportswriters in Indianapolis. Visitation will be on Thursday, August 22, 2024 from 4:00PM to 8:00PM at Bell Mortuary & Crematory, Shangrila Chapel 1444 W US HWY 52, Fountaintown, IN 46130. Service will be Friday, August 23, 2024 at 11:00AM at Bell Mortuary & Crematory, Shangrila Chapel. Officiating will be Reverend Danny Thomas.

Burial will be at New Palestine Cemetery, New Palestine, IN.
