David Michael Smithes , 51, of Greenfield passed away June 24, 2016. He was born on November 14, 1964 in Indianapolis to parents William Smithes and Carolyn (Lee) Smithes. He is survived by daughter, Sarah (Matt) Smithes ; sons: Dylan Smithes and Hunter Smithes; father, William Smithes; brother, Joseph Smithes; sisters: Julie Krause, Kari Weeks and Jessica Hansford; nephews: Cole Smithes,Nikolas Smithes, Adam Brockman, Elias Brockman and Dalton Weeks; nieces: Allyson Talkington, Ellyanna Brockman, Ezria Brockman, Nichole Hall, Caroline Weeks, and Brooke Weeks; grandson, Gavin Gritter; and former wife, Tina Hey. He is preceded in death by mother, Carolyn (Lee) Smithes.
David graduated from Howe High. He was employed at Bill Smithes Floor Covering. David loved Mustangs, movies and spending time with his family.
Visitation will be held Thursday, June 30, from 4:00-8:00 pm with a Rosary Service at 7:30 pm at Bell Mortuary & Crematory, Shangrila Chapel, 1444 US Hwy 52, Fountaintown. A Funeral Mass will be held Friday, July 1 at 10:00 am at Our Lady of Lourdes, 5333 E. Washington Street, Indianapolis. Officiating the service will be Father Dant.
