David Michael Mendez Jr. , 77, Indianapolis, IN passed away on April 21, 2023 in Indianapolis, IN. He was born on September 30, 1945 in Topeka, KS.

Survivors include, son, Michael Andrew (Rachel) Mendez; daughters, Amanda & Louanne Mendez; sisters, Sandra (David) Switzer, Debra (Micheal Wolford) Wiseman, and Cynthia Marie Mendez; brother, Jerome Richard Mendez; 11 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; 26 aunts & uncles; His cat Miranda.

Preceded in death by wife, Evelyn Mendez; parents, David and Teresa Mendez; grandparents, Luis and Patrocina Mendez, Blas and Ernesta Mendez; brothers, Jerome and David Mendez; sister, Patricia Mendez; ex-wife, Barbara.

David served in the Navy. He liked watching football, Nascar, Horror Movies, Westerns and listening to Johnny Cash and Elvis, he was also an avid animal lover.

Service will be on April 26, 2023, at 2:00PM at Bell Mortuary & Crematory, Royster-Askin-Sandrock Chapel, 2310 W. Washington Street, Indianapolis, IN 46222 with visitation from 12:00PM until time of service at the mortuary. Officiating the service will be his son Michael A. Mendez.
