Darren Dwayne Rindahl

d. Jul 28, 2026

Paris, Tennessee

Darren Dwayne Rindahl, 60, went home to be with his Heavenly Father on July 28, 2026. Born January 14, 1966, in Alberta Canada to Helen and Peter Rindahl, he arrived 17 years after his three older siblings and often joked his parents were just waiting for perfection.

Darren met Tracey Short, affectionately calling her his “lil muffin,” and they married in Alberta, Canada on September 15, 2001. They spent 17 years in Arizona, where they loved traveling and riding their Harley Davidson motorcycles, before moving to Paris, Tennessee in 2021. There, they became foster parents to 4-month-old Genevieve Johnson, who called Darren “Da Da” and had him wrapped around her finger. They later welcomed Makayla, Alivia and Audrey into their hearts, and in 2025, Darren and Tracey were named Foster Parents of the Year by Tennessee Youth Villages. Darren adored his daughters deeply. He enjoyed his Corvette, gaming, watching movies, and being a jokester, often teasing his Canadian nieces as they grew up.

He is survived by his loving wife, Tracey, their daughters, sisters Sandra (Russ) Torris of Alberta Canada and Elaine (Don) Prowal of British Columbia, Canada, numerous nieces and nephews across Canada, the USA, and the Philippines, sisters-in-law Carol Atwood, Alberta, Canada, Jamie Short, Fountaintown, IN, Bonnie Guzman, Greenfield, IN, Kellie (J.R.) Fannin, McCaysville, Georgia, Neng Rindahl, Phillipines, brother-in-law Joe (Stacey) Short, Chandler, Arizona and mother-in-law Agnes Wilcher., Connersville, IN. He was welcomed in Heaven by his parents, brother Gerald Rindahl, father-in-law Ralph Short, and brother-in-law David Short.

A memorial service will be held at Bell Mortuary & Crematory, 1444 W. US Hwy 52, Fountaintown, Indiana on October 3, 2026 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., with officiant Charles Short speaking at 1 p.m.
