Daren R. Bergeron

February 23, 1966 — December 29, 2025

Danville, IL

Daren R. Bergeron, age 59, of Danville, Illinois passed away on December 29, 2025 at the Manteno Veteran’s Home.

Daren was born on February 23, 1966 in San Diego, California, to Allen and Vonnie Bergeron. Daren was a 1984 graduate of Tate High School in Cantonement, Florida and went on to earn his Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Columbia University. He proudly served in the United States Navy for 21 years as an electronics technician and retired as a Chief Petty Officer with multiple awards and commendations. Following military service, Daren worked as a quality assurance supervisor for 8 years.

Daren was known for his laid back personality and his easy going nature. One of his favorite places to be was on the water with a fishing pole in his hand. Many of Daren’s happiest moments were spent with his family and friends. From fishing trips to family vacations in Pensacola Beach, those who love him are left with many cherished memories. He was hilarious and often had us laughing with his funny voices and sayings. Daren liked being active and throughout his life he enjoyed playing football, softball, golfing, working out and walking. He loved music and even in the last few years of his life when he lost the ability to enjoy many things, he often responded to familiar music and had many a dance party with the staff at the veteran’s home.

While stationed at Chanute Air Force Base in Rantoul, IL, he met his wife Erin Crane Bergeron and they were married in 1992. He is survived by wife, his children, Austin Bergeron of San Francisco, California, Evan Bergeron of Urbana, Illinois, and Ellie Bergeron of Danville, Illinois, his mother, Vonnie Bergeron of Gulf Breeze, FL and his sister, Sheila (Greg) Gay of Walnut Hill, FL, and many family members. Daren was preceded in death by his father, Allen R. Bergeron.

Daren’s life will be celebrated privately.

Daren was a hard worker, loved his friends and family well, and lived his life with purpose. He often reminded others to simply “Do good”. He lived out this motto by participating in and donating his organs to a research study being done through Indiana University on Early Onset Alzheimer’s in hopes of finding a cure for this devastating disease. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Association
