He is preceded in death by his wife Rebecca “Becky” Ann (Bishop) Dotts; sons Dale Dotts II and Benjamin Dotts; mother Gloria (Burke) Dotts , father Jack Dotts and  his bother Robert “Rob’ Dotts.

Dale’s family was his priority and he worked hard throughout his life to support them. He was a brick mason and owned Dale Dotts & Son Masonry for many years. He also spent time working on a farm. Football was by far his favorite sport.  He loved to fish and garden with his children and grandchildren as they grew up. He also enjoyed making homemade pickles, grilling and cooking. Dale also loved God with all of his heart. He served as a minister for many years at Westside Apostolic Church.  He often went out of his way to pick up many children and bring them to Sunday school. In one of his sermons, “The Difference 24 Hours Makes,” he said that whether good happens or devastation happens we are to give God the glory. “When we lose someone in our lives,” he said, “it’s only temporary. This world is not our home; we are just passing through. We have a hope, and that is in Jesus. Whether on the mountain top or in the valley so low, keep your eyes on Jesus and He will give you the strength you need.”
