Charles E. Hull, Jr. was born on February 24, 1942, in Chambersburg, PA to Charles E. Hull, Sr. and Ruth Isabel (Stoner) Hull. He passed away on April 24, 2023, at Community Hospital North in Indianapolis.

He graduated in 1960 from Chambersburg Area Senior High School where he played basketball and football. He enlisted in the US Army, served in Korea and at Fort Benjamin Harrison, Indianapolis where he taught Finance. He met Janet Kaye Edwards on a blind date, and they were married on August 1, 1964.

He worked at International Harvester/Navistar/ICC in many different roles including Foreman, General Foreman, and Superintendent of the Foundry. In later years, he taught Statistical Process Control, and other safety and quality courses, and coordinated the Apprenticeship program with Ivy Tech.

He was a man of many hats and many nicknames:  Dad, Papaw, Bud, Charlie, Uncle Bud, the Don, APD (all-purpose Dad), and Babycakes. Some of his favorite things were eating seafood, playing poker, pinochle, and other games, golfing, fishing with his kids and grandkids, dancing, traveling (especially to the Smoky Mountains, Myrtle Beach and Madeira Beach), cooking, watching his grandson Alex play football, visiting casinos, and betting on horses. He loved dogs, especially Rudy, Lucy, Bandit and Scout. He coached girls softball for many years with the Triton Youth Athletic Association, where he made sure each girl had the chance to play and have fun regardless of her ability.

He is survived by his daughters, Kimberly Hilton, Indianapolis; Lesley Cotterman (Michael), New Palestine; four grandchildren--Jacob Andrew Hilton, Fountaintown; Emily Kaye Hilton-Van Wagoner (Joshua), Shelbyville; Katherine Adele Cotterman and Alexander Vance Cotterman, New Palestine; brother William Hull (Ann) Chambersburg, PA; sister Debra Ruth Wilson (Doug), Greenwood; niece Jennifer Ruth Kocher (Andrew), Indianapolis; and great-nephew Charles Andrew Kocher and great-niece Ruth Carolyn Kocher.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and the mother of his daughters and spouse of 34 years, Janet Kaye Edwards (Hull).
