Bruce Allen Kimbley, of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away on September 30, 2026, in Indianapolis. He was born on February 11, 1950, in Indianapolis, and spent his life in the city he called home.
Bruce was a blessing to many. He completed the 10th grade and went on to live a life marked by hard work, generosity, and a love for simple pursuits. He loved to drive a wrecker and tow cars when his brother would let him, and he also worked at Goodwill for a time. Bruce enjoyed picking up junk, scrapping it, and stockpiling it, and he did all he could to help other people.
He shared a special bond with his nephew Chris, who loved his Uncle Buck dearly, and Bruce loved him just as deeply. In the evenings, the two would sit on the couch holding hands while Chris told his Uncle Buck all about his day. That quiet, loving routine reflected the tenderness and care Bruce gave to those around him.
Bruce is survived by his wife, Barbara Kimbley; his sons, Everett Keen and Don Keen; and his daughter, Jessica Keen. He is also survived by his sister Brenda Reinking and her husband, Gary Reinking, and by his brother George Kimbley and his wife, Pat Kimbley. He will be remembered with love by his six grandchildren and five great grandchildren and by all who were touched by his kindness and helpful spirit.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Leona Nelson Kimbley; his father, Wilbur C. Kimbley; and by Clyde Kimbley, Kathy Kimbley, Beverly Kimbley, Linda Coy, Margaret Wilson, Gus Kimbley, Dean Kimbley, and Linda.
Visitation will be held on Monday October 12, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Cross Church, 4540 Madison Avenue, Indianapolis, Indiana, 46227. A funeral service officiated by Garrett Scott-Miller will follow there at 1:00 p.m. Burial will take place after the service at Floral Park Cemetery, 425 N Holt Rd, Indianapolis, Indiana 46222. If anyone would like to donate directly to the funeral home to help with funeral expenses, that would be so kind and appreciated by Bruce's family.
Bruce will be remembered for his helping heart, his steady presence, and the care he gave so freely to others. His memory will remain dear to those who knew and loved him.
