Beulah "Ann" Lee (Skaggs) Short

Beulah ‘Ann’ Short , age 80, of New Palestine, passed away surrounded by her family on Sunday, February 28, 2021. She was born on September 19, 1940 in Lindseyville, Kentucky as the daughter of Rance and Evelyn Skaggs. Ann married Arthur Short on August 22, 1958 in Indianapolis.

She retired from Kroger in 1987 wanting to spend more time with her family. She loved spending time outdoors, gardening, and canning. She also enjoyed playing cards, knitting, and when she was younger, she bowled on a league with friends. Car shows and traveling to Florida with her husband is something she has missed and was looking forward to going home to be with the Lord and to be with her husband again.

Ann is survived by her four children; son Rick (Jan) Short of Greenfield, daughters; Ramona Short of New Palestine, Melanie Larrabee of Greenfield, Melissa (Mike) Heidenreich of Kentucky; brother Robert Skaggs of Illinois, sisters; Lynn Lindsey, Gay Carder, Betty (Harold) Hester, and Linda (David) Sanders all of Kentucky, six grandchildren, five step grandchildren, and two great grandchildren. She was proceeded in death by her parents, husband Arthur Short, brother Larry Skaggs, sisters Mildred Hayes and Frances McCready, and son-in-law Patrick Larrabee.

In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be sent to the American Cancer Society, 5635 W 96th Street, Indianapolis, IN 46278.

Funeral Services will be held Thursday, March 4, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at Bell Mortuary & Crematory, Shangrila Chapel, 1444 W US Hwy 52, Fountaintown, IN 46130 . Visitation will be Thursday, March 4, 2021 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at the mortuary. Officiating will be Pastor Rick Moreland. Burial will be at New Palestine Cemetery, New Palestine, IN.

Masks and social distancing will be required at the visitation and service due to COVID-19 restrictions.
