Betty J Gipson

Betty J. Gipson, 95, of New Palestine, Indiana, passed away peacefully on September 11, 2026. She was born on May 23, 1931, in Knightstown, Indiana, to the late Anna M. Smith (Lotzgeselle) and Brocia A. Smith.

Betty grew up in Clayton, Indiana, graduated from Clayton High School in 1949, and was the last of 13 children. She married the late Wilson B. Gipson (2023) on November 27, 1952. They resided in Danville, Indiana, and later in St. Petersburg, Florida, where she spent many years working for McDonalds Corporation. After many years in Florida, she relocated to New Palestine with her husband to be closer to their children. She enjoyed time with family and friends, playing cards, reading, listening to music, watching old movies, needlework, and both word and jigsaw puzzles.

Survivors include her children, Steve (Yvette) Gipson, Randy (Karen) Gipson, Marsha (Jim) Harrold, and Rob Gipson. Also surviving are grandchildren, Nathan (Tha) Gipson, Eric (Stacy) Harrold, Angie Harrold, Morgan (Ryan) Gann, and Sarah Gipson. Also surviving are 1O great grandchildren and one great, great grandson.

She was also preceded in death by her son, Alan Wayne (1960) and her 12 siblings. 

There are no services to be held at this time.
