Doris Jean (Griffiths) Apple

Doris Jean (Griffiths) Apple age 93, of 329 Wintergreen Rd. Timberlake NC, departed this life on Thursday evening, Aug. 09, 2018 at Treyburn Rehabilitation Center Durham NC.

Mrs. Apple was born Dec. 15, 1924 in Greenfield, Indiana. She was the daughter of the late Gomer and Fredia Griffiths.

Doris graduated from Carthage High School, worked at Irving Materials Inc. as a secretary and tour guide for Irving's exotic animal showroom and then as care taker of Mr. Irving's exotic animal farm.

Mrs. Apple was a member of the Eastern Star of Indianapolis, Indiana. She was a Board Member of the First Church of Spiritual Science of Muncie, Indiana, then was Vice President and Minister of Healing and founding member of The First United Metaphysical Chapel in Bahama, NC after moving to Timberlake, NC 16 yrs. ago.

Doris was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Apple of Carthage, IN, her parents, and her brother, Gomer Rex Griffiths.

Viewing will be conducted on Thursday, Aug. 23, 2018 at Bell Mortuary & Crematory, Shangrila Chapel, in Fountaintown, Indiana from 1:00p.m. To 2:00p.m., followed by graveside service conducted by Rev. Connie Beth Graddy at the Greenfield Park Cemetery in Greenfield, Indiana.

Arrangements are being handled by Bell Mortuary & Crematory, Shangrila Chapel, 1444 West Hwy US 52, Fountaintown, IN  46130.
