Theodore S Hatfield

Theodore S. Hatfield, 88, of Greenfield, passed away Monday, August 29, 2016. Theodore was born on July 06, 1928 in Monticello, Kentucky to George F Hatfield and Lillian Hatfield (Denton).  He was proceeded in death by his parents; wife, Cleo (Wickersham) Hatfield; daughter, Pamela Hatfield;  brothers , George Francis Hatfield Jr., Rex Bunch, and Earl Hatfield; sisters, Nell Morris, Louise Morris, Imogene Floyd, Sue Marcum, Faye Woody, Kaye Hatfield; granddaughters  Bitsy Durham and Ashley Burton. Survivors include sons, Keith (Brenda) Hatfield, Ted (Darlene) Hatfield; daughters, Nancy (Stephen) Durham, Beth (Brian) Scott; several nieces and nephews; seven grandchildren; nine great grandchildren.

Theodore was retired from Indiana Union Belt Railroad in Indianapolis as engineer, conductor and brakeman. He was also a brick mason. He served in the US Army, Navy and National Guard.  He left school in the 8th grade to help support his family. At the age of 64, he received his GED. Theodore was a member of Faith United Methodist Church and the American Legion.  He enjoyed spending time at his shop, The Rusty Rail, at a local antique mall.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, September 3, 2016 at 3:00 pm at Faith United Methodist Church, 328 N. Swope Street, Greenfield, IN, with Visitation from 1:00 pm until time of service at the church. Arrangements are being handled by Bell Mortuary & Crematory, Shangrila Chapel, Fountaintown.
