Mattie D. Thompson, 57, of Indianapolis, passed away on October 2, 2017. Mattie was born in Chicago, Illinois to William Crawford and Ethel Lee B. Thompson.  She later moved to Indianapolis, IN where she attended IPS #44 and Northwest HS where she earned her GED.  She accepted Christ at an early age.  She was also known as 'Nana".  She was employed as a cook and manager at Hardee's for over twenty years.  She loved cooking, gardening, reading, eating, and spending time with family, and talking daily with best friends and children.  She was always the life of our family gatherings.  She had a phenomenal spirit that touched many hearts and she will be greatly missed.  She is survived by her mother, Mrs. Ethel B. Smith; two daughters, Latasha Dailey (Al), Renika Thompson Mack (Calvin); God daughter, Lisa Tyler (Vincent), son, Curtis Williams III,  thirteen grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren, and a host of family and friends.  Preceding her in death are grandfather, Mr Freddie B Jordan, and grandmother, Mattie M Jordan.

Services will be Thursday, October 12, 2017 at 12:00 pm. at Charity Missionary Baptist Church, 3205 N Euclid Avenue, Indianapolis, IN 46218 .  Visitation will be from 10:00am until time of service at Charity Missionary Baptist Church. Officiating will be Pastor Gordon Armour.

Arrangements are being handled by Bell Mortuary & Crematory,  Royster-Askin-Sandrock Chapel, 2310 W Washington Street, Indianapolis, IN 46222.
