Mary Ruth (Johnson) Cox, 88, of Indianapolis, passed away January 9, 2018 at her residence at Crestwood Village. She was born August 29, 1929 in Brazil, IN, the daughter of Mayme Louise (Killion) and Forrest Johnson. She moved to Indianapolis April 1948 after marrying Paul T. Cox Sr., where they raised four children. In 1991, she and Paul moved back to Brazil, IN. In 2015 Mary moved to Westside Garden Plaza in Indianapolis. Mary was an exceptional homemaker. She stressed the importance of healthy eating. She will be remembered for her deep love of family and friends.
Survivors include her children: Linda England and husband Rick of Indianapolis, Paul T. Cox Jr. of Indianapolis, and Vicki Gerking and husband Mike of Brazil; ten grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; sister, Loretta Slater of Greencastle; brother, Robert L. Johnson and wife Betty of Brazil; several nieces, nephews and extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Paul; son, Gregory Allen Cox; grandchildren, Lacey Eden Cox and Samuel Paul Gerking; brothers, Forrest Johnson Jr. and Bernard E. Johnson.

A Memorial Service will be held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Brazil, IN.
