Lawrence Edward Olson, Sr.

Lawrence Edward (Larry) Olson; of Plainfield, Indiana; formerly of Illinois; went to his heavenly home on June 29th, 2015; at the age of 69. Larry had suffered a major stroke on June 23 and suffered complications that eventually took his life.

Larry was born in Geneva, Il.; on January 10, 1946. He went to school in St. Charles; Il.; where he quit school in the 10th grade in 1963, to join the service.

Larry was a veteran of The United States Navy; having served 6 years during which time he did 3 tours in Viet Nam. Larry was employed as a sub-contractor in many different jobs in Illinois before his retirement and move to Indiana.

Larry was an avid motorcycle rider; a member of the Gold Wing Motorcycle group in Chicago, IL; and loved his bike and riding with a passion. He had been riding since he was in his teens; and his bike was his best friend. He rode every year in the Toys for Tots Runs; and was very active in Veterans Activities!

Larry is survived by his ex-wife and present girlfriend Wilma Jane Harman. He is also survived by his siblings; Virginia Lake of Montgomery, IL.; Lamont Olson (Brenda) of Centralia, IL.; Marcia Hufford of Dexter, Mo.; and Donald Olson (Karen) of North Aurora, IL., and by his children and many nieces and nephews; and extended family.

Larry was preceded in death by his father and mother; Manly Jeremiah (Jerry) and JeanieMae Olson; his sisters Margerit Olson Scoggins; Mona Olson Hurd; and his brother Marshall Douglas (Doug) Olson.
